It all started some 15 years ago. The Swedish tool making engineer, and audiophile, Björn Ohlson started experimenting with different suspension platforms for his audio equipment. He came to realization that most commercially available products did alter the sound in one way or another, but they seldom enhanced the full frequency spectrum. There where numerous problems; inferior materials, lack of solid research to substantiate the theory and construction etc.

With his technical background in the luggage, and with firm determination, Mr. Ohlson went to work. Extensive research and study began into the fundamentals of vibration and isolating suspension. No stone was left unturned! Once the fundamentals where laid out, Mr. Ohlson started producing the first air isolated platforms and racks. Shortly there after the first Solid Tech platform saw the light.

The reception of the product was nothing less than phenomenal. The visitors at international Hi-fi shows as well as media praised the product for its functionality, flexibility and excellent craftsmanship. The main question was; how would it compare to the other existing racks and isolation platforms on the market?

The Scandinavian Hi-fi press that tested Solid Tech against the leading rack manufacturers soon answered this: Solid tech platforms and racks proved to be superior in vibration isolation, and build quality. During his testing and evaluation period Mr. Ohlson realized that isolation and tuning should be seen as complementary and essential partners in the ongoing battle with detrimental vibrations.

Although the air isolated platforms had some major advantages, it also had some limitations, one of them being user friendliness. He concluded that no matter how well isolated the platform is it remains a large physical body! The next logical step would be to place a well-isolated small rigid body as close as possible to the equipment.

This solution would perfectly complement the Rack of Silence, further improving the effectiveness of damping and isolation. This resulted in the birth of Feet of Silence and the Cradle of Silence. The response from the media and the audiophiles was immediate!

They marveled about the excellent performance and engineering. Once again it was proven that solid research and solid engineering results in a superior product: Solid Tech!
